It’s that time of year again when tradition dictates that we all get together at this special time…..and go for a good old curry!! Always a big turnout and a final chance to get on the lash with the boys before the family commitments take over.
Balti Walla on the Bath Road will again be the venue, its bring your own booze so that brings the costs down and more importantly, they know us now and don’t mind the carnage that we create (although they have requested we try and keep Billie calm this time)
If I could get a rough idea on numbers that would be great, just reply to mail@frankashworth.co.uk with a yes or no and I can get it booked
Just a quick one to say thanks to all that attended the race night, early indications are that we beat last years fundraising total comfortably.
I hope you all enjoyed it, hopefully next year someone else apart from Ben can have a go at winning the auction race!!
Also, if anyone can confirm or deny whether or not ‘The Claw’ made an appearance on Saturday night, it will be greatly appreciated
Only two of the club’s team were in action today, with the first team at home in the Northern Senior League and the Reserves away in a Cheltenham League Division One match.
The First team played host to near neighbours Cheltenham Civil Service and took all three points for the second week in a row, courtesy of a 5-0 win. Goals from Steve Conway, who notched twice, and Simon Reeve made it 3-0 at half time. Simon Reeve scored again after the break and the scoring was completed by an own goal after an hour.
The Reserves lost 1-0 at Finlay Rovers in a disappointing game which also saw the home side miss a penalty.
All,
‘A Night at the Races’ 2009 is finally here, thanks to our new arrangement with the Lansdown they have kindly agreed to hold the evening there.
Tickets are £3 each and we hope to see as many of you there as possible!! Hopefully all last years atendee’s will agree that it’s a great night.
If anyone has any questions or wishes to attend please let either myself, mail@frankashworth.co.uk or Matt Harvey mharvey72@mac.com know.
See you all there!!

The First team are at home in the League against second place Ramblers. The Reserves and Thirds are both playing in Charity Cup fixtures with the Reserves hoping to avenge last weeks defeat at the hands of Bishops Cleeve III at home and the Thirds are away in the first of their back-to-back cup fixtures (Charity & County) against C&G.
All games are 3pm kick-offs (Charity Cup fixtures go straight to penalties in case you were wondering).
Good luck and I hope to see you back at The Lansdown afterwards.

All three teams were in action today, with mixed results. Both the First and Reserve teams were at home and both teams lost, the First team to Brockworth Albion in the League, 2-1, with the First team’s goal being scored 5 minutes before the end by Stuart Walker, and the Reserves in the Junior County Cup, 3-2 to AC Olympia. The Reserves were behind from the first minute and never really recovered, conceding a second goal 10 minutes later. Jamie Roberts and Dave Hawley did reply in the second half but only did so either side of what proved to be the winner for the visitors
Better news was gleaned from the second leg of the Third Team’s three week autumnal tour of Worcestershire. Following the win at Upton, the side returned with a share of the spoils today following a 1-1 draw at Hanley Swan, during which the side took a 7th minute lead, courtesy of an own goal, only to be pegged back to level terms in the second half.

The First team are at home in the league against Brockworth Albion with a 3pm kick off. The Reserves are also at home this time in a local derby against AC Olympia in the County Cup, this time with a 2:30pm kick off.
The 3rd team are away to Hanley Swan in the league with a 3pm kick off.
Due to the declining numbers returning to The Farmers after games due to their not being a TV, the Club has negotiated a new arrangement with The Lansdown pub (on the Lansdown Road, opposite the Texaco garage). A special area will be reserved for all Club members (home and away teams) and any home teams opposition that might wish to come back to watch the live premiership game. Various refreshments will also be provided.
As this is a new arrangement, please can everyone do their best to make their way back to The Lansdown to show their support and also give everyone an opportunity to celebrate together their success in the games they have just played (hopefully?).
Thanks

Despite taking an early two goal lead, the First team still took their leave of the County Cup at the first hurdle for the fourth season in a row when they lost 4-2 at home to Fairford Town Reserves this afternoon.
The Firsts took the lead in the second minute, through Steve Piper, and doubled their advantage on 19 minutes when Tim Jones scored. There were no further goals before half time but, after the break, the visitors pulled one back within 40 seconds of the restart and never looked back. They levelled the scores soon after and then took the lead with 15 minutes left, courtesy of a terrible bounce that meant that the ball hit Steve Bermingham in the face as he shaped to hook it clear. Andy Herbert went close to squaring things up once more when, from his position as a make shift striker following an injury, he volleyed just inches wide with 5 minutes to go but Fairford made sure of their place in the next round as their hosts chased the game and they grabbed a fourth in time added on.
