THIRD TEAM GO UP TO DIVISION FOUR!
More than 6 weeks after the team's last League match and something like 8 weeks after it was assured of finishing
no lower than third in Division Five for the second successive season, last night's Cheltenham League AGM agreed a constitution
for next season which included the third team in Division Four.
Only the top two sides are guaranteed a place in the next level for the new season so the thirds, who have
finished just one place outside the automatic promotion spots for two years running, were left to sweat on the formation of
the League's constitution for season 2009-10, knowing all the time that some 10 new clubs had applied to join the League for
the new campaign.
Some of these teams were ceded straight into the upper echelons of the League but primarily because FC Barometrics,
the League Champions, were promoted to the Northern Senior League but no one was relegated to take their place, additional
spaces were left available in most of the League's Divisions. One of these has been allocated, in Division Four, to
the team that finished third in Division Five and that means that the third team will play in Division Four next season for
the first time in 5 years.
Whilst this is not automatic promotion, it is promotion nonetheless as it is entirely due to the team's final
league placing that it will be playing at a higher level next season and congratulations are due to everyone who has played
a part, not least the teams two managers, Mark Elliot and Matt Harvey, who have engineered a side and engendered a team spirit
that has seen the team develop into the most consistent side in Division Five for the last two seasons.

STAR FC TO APPEAR AT WEMBLEY!
Following surprising developments yesterday afternoon, it seems likely that Star FC is set to appear
at Wembley tomorrow evening. It became apparent, from details received from the Gloucestershire Football Association,
that the FA is keen to promote participation in adult football by utilising the names of Charter Standard clubs as part of
adverts, which will be flashed up onto the hoardings that surround the pitch, during the course of the England v Andorra
game tomorrow evening.
The club is now preparing itself for an influx of potential players, most particularly from the tiny principality
that provides England with its opposition tomorrow evening. With a population that is estimated to be slightly lower
than Cheltenham's, they might not be able to stem the tide in a world cup qualifier against the team that is currently ranked
sixth in the world but they might be able to do a job on the left hand side of midfield in the Cheltenham League.

AGM Report
Several important changes for the new season were agreed at the sparsely attended Club AGM, which was held
in the Community Room at Christ's College last Wednesday.
Whilst most officers of the club were re-elected unopposed, two new appointments were ratified, with Stefano
Pucello taking over the reins from Nick Griggs as Club Treasurer and Rick Redfearn assuming the vacant position of Assistant
Secretary.
Meanwhile, it was also agreed that the membership year would run from AGM to AGM, with the full £10, early
payment, discount on renewals only being available on the day of the meeting, once it had decided on the rates that would
apply for the season to come. In practice, this will mean that, from now on, the only way to be sure of getting a full
£10 discount on the price of club membership for a forthcoming season will be to attend the AGM!!!
In addition, it was agreed that the full price of membership for the forthcoming season would be £40.
A £5 discount on this price is currently available on all membership renewals and will remain in place until the opening day
of the Cheltenham League season, which is likely to be September 1st. Associate membership will be priced at £30.
Lots of other things were decided and discussed, along with details of the only trophy that the club managed
to win in season 2008-09 and further information may be forthcoming with regard to these some time in the future.
